Dictionary Making Seminar
Purpose and Prerequisites
Course leader: Richard Gravina, M.A.
As part of our annual Assignment Related Training (ART) course, we include a three week dictionary making seminar.
We have a limited number of places in this seminar that we would like to open up to others who are not taking part in the whole ART course.
The following prerequisites normally apply for acceptance:
- You have a good grasp of the basic linguistic concepts of phonology, morphology, grammar, syntax & semantics. These topics are introduced in the first seven weeks of the ART course
- You are familiar with FieldWorks software
- You will also need to bring your own laptop computer.
You may wish to check the desired specifications for your laptop using this guide.
If you follow the MA Field Linguistics Programme, it is one of two options within the Language Study Skills module at the Certificate stage.
